I originally bought this hoping it could flush out a tonsillolith in the back of my throat, but no such luck.
Still, I found it useful shortly after having a nosebleed to get the clot out of my sinuses so it doesn’t dry out, and get painful. It’ll definitely help you if you get a lot of stuff stuck and turning into hard dry masses up there. It seems like it would help prevent embarassing “you’ve got something in your nose” moments if you used it beforehand.
My only complaints about the machine are that the power cord is a bit short and it’s a little loud.

Before buying my Grossan Hydro Pulse I checked out all the reviews I could find.
Never before have I read so many positive reviews on a product !!
Perhaps that is my problem – EVERYONE experienced such good results that I was expecting COMPLETE RELIEF INSTANTLY. Maybe that was unrealistic.
I have now used the irrigator 3 times. With each use my sinus are worse and more stuffed up. It seems as if water is being forced into places and can’t drain out.
With all the good reviews I have trouble thinking that my condition is unique and uncurable. I keep hoping that it will just take some time for the cilia to get working properly and that I should remain patient until then. However, I am starting to worry if I may be making my condition worse.
I tried to call the company, but they were quite uncooperative in offering any advice whatsoever.
Has anyone else experienced similar initial symptoms that later improved?

This machine has made the #1 biggest improvement in my health! My chronic sinusitis made me so tired it was terrible, and I had a truly awful looking CAT scan and was told by one doctor I needed to have surgery. I considered it, but recovery was going to be difficult since I have small children, including a toddler that I have to carry a lot, so instead I went on allergy shots and began irrigating my sinuses every day. It really is effective, I’m amazed how much gunk (gross,I know) comes out that I could never remove by blowing my nose. Now when I catch a cold, it still sometimes starts to turn into a sinus infection and begins to migrate into my chest. But I’m able to reverse it in several days by aggresively irrigating/taking Sudafed. I haven’t needed antibiotics for almost 2 years now.
Those were the pros, now for the cons: After 18 months the machine is really breaking down. The pump barely works anymore. In fact it had quit working completely, but my husband took it apart and somehow got it working again. Still, sometimes I have to bang it against the counter to get it going–I know it’s on its last leg. So, I’m limping along, hoping it lasts a bit longer because I really don’t want to put out another $100 for another one. I think the machine is a bit overpriced for what it is and how poorly it’s made–I think it should cost somewhere from $50-$70, but in the end I suppose I’ll have to cave in and plunk down $100 to buy another one. Because my health is priceless! I have three young daughters to care for and I can’t do it if sinus issues are draining my energy.

I never would have believed the claims made in the reviews without trying this for myself. I’ve been suffering recurring sinus infections for nearly 6 years. During the past 3+ years, if I have gotten a cold it has turned into a sinus infection in less than 2 weeks. I’ve been to my internist more times than I care to recount, an ENT, had a CT scan of my sinuses, taken OTC meds, steroids, antibiotics, and more antibiotics. I finally decided to give this a try and muct to my delight, it actually works. It’s fast and easy to use. I highly recommend it.

The Grossan Irrigator is conceptually a good idea. The problem is that the execution is very shoddy. I have had to buy two units in the last 2 years, and both developed the same problem. The second unit I bought started to malfuction after only 2 months! The problem is that the unit seems to get clogged. Despite following the instructions that come with the unit, the unit stays clogged. I have finally decided to look for an alternative to this manufacturer.
